Description:
JOB OVERVIEW
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Dermatology Department on a fixed term part-time contract. We are seeking for an experienced Phototherapy Clinical Nurse Specialist to assist in increasing our current service to meet the expanding needs, and Trust targets and objectives.
The post holder will provide specialist nursing care to patients and their families together with another CNS at St Helier Hospital site, and will be part of larger Dermatology multidisciplinary team.
Through their expert knowledge of the field they will play a key role in ensuring that the phototherapy patients receive the highest standard of evidence-based care and support through planning, co-ordinating, delivery and evaluation of the service. They will also be involved in service development and educational activities.
This opportunity requires you to be committed, organised and an excellent communicator. You must be able to work autonomously, manage your own time effectively and work as part of a team, as you will be managing patients in your own clinic sessions and participating in patient reviews with members of the multi-disciplinary team.
This part time role requires the post holder to work on four days a week four hours a day to meet the service needs.
Responsibilities:
MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB
To administer phototherapy treatments (narrowband UVB, PUVA) independently to patients with conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and vitiligo, while monitoring their response and ensuring local and national safety protocols are followed.
Provide specialist education and training to patients and their carers.
Schedule patient appointments, maintain accurate records, and assist with departmental audits and reporting as needed.
Act as a role model and provide support, governance and ongoing professional development and training within the team and the outpatient staff and students.
