Savanna is currently looking to grow our Heavy Drilling crews and need qualified rig hands to work with our talented crews. We are currently seeking qualified experienced Derrickhands, residing in Australia to join our growing Well Servicing and Light Drilling Rig teams working 2&2 rosters.

What experience & skills must you possess?
- To be considered for this position, you must have:
- An understanding of rig operations, downhole processes & problems;
- An understanding of servicing/maintaining rig engines & equipment;
- A positive attitude towards safety, policies & procedures;
- As a minimum, a Cert II in Drilling Oil/Gas (Onshore); &
- Relevant industry experience.

- The ability to work outdoors, in remote locations
- Physical strength and stamina
- The ability to work long hours and in extreme weather conditions
- Must be able to work at heights
- Able to follow directions and company policies

- Valid open and manual full C (Car) Class driver’s licence
- Awareness of Chain of Responsibility Regulations
- A general knowledge of machinery is considered to be an asset
- Must be a team player, good communicator, have sound safety appreciation, time management and competent computer skills
- Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons; 12 hours a day, for extended periods away from home location. Vigorous manual labor required
- Clean National Police Clearance Record (less than 1 month old
Responsibilities:
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
A Derrickhand organises & assists in the operation, maintenance & cleaning of the drilling rigs reporting to the Rig Manager.
You’ll be typically:
- Train the Motorhand, Floorhand and Leasehand on the use of basic hand tools
- Demonstrate an advanced understanding of rig operations (rig-in, rig-out, running casing)
- Operate the mud pumps, manifolds and tanks as per requirements
- Calculate wellbore volumes, mud weights and pump rates/volumes
- Assign and assist in the housekeeping on the rig
- Using technology to monitor & report on work progress
- Undertaking work in the derrick as required including the use of working at heights equipment
Carrying out basic servicing & maintenance of rig engines & equipment.

DERRICKHAND ROLES MUST HAVE VALID CERTIFICATIONS (ADDITIONAL TO PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS):
