We have an exciting opportunity within the recently acquired Sykes Pumps, a company within the Portable Flow pillar of the Power and Flow division. As the Design and Quality Engineer you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. You will lead the design and quality assurance efforts, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and deliver superior products to our customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with suppliers to identify quality gaps and implement improvement strategies.
• Develop inspection methods to analyse product quality.
• Recommend changes based on failure reports and feedback channels.
• Prepare reports summarizing data for improvement needs.
• Maintain Quality system documentation and conduct ISO 9001:2015 audits.
• Follow up on corrective actions and verify effectiveness.
• Design and develop new products to meet market demands.
• Conduct engineering calculations and adhere to relevant standards.
• Communicate design intent to stakeholders.Participate in R&D projects and validate designs.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST HAVE:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Mechanical or Design Engineer.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and CAD proficiency.
• Familiarity with FMEA and engineering principles.
• Excellent communication and project management abilities.
