Overview:
Novant Health is seeking a Construction Manager to serve as a leader who manages project planning, budgeting, design and construction matters. Administering associated contracts for complex healthcare construction projects in order to deliver the most remarkable patient experience, in every dimension, every time and to understand how he or she contributes to the health system’s vision of achieving that commitment to patients and families. Coordinate with the appropriate internal departments, contractors, and external agencies. Assist with and coordinate interior design, furniture and equipment, signage, technology infrastructure, IT and move-in/occupancy. Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management, preferred.
- Experience: Three years’ experience in successful construction project management and supervision of hospital construction/renovation projects, required.
- Additional Skills Required: Knowledge of state and federal construction regulatory requirements for the healthcare industry. Knowledgeable in all aspects of code requirements including IBC, ADA, DHSR, Life Safety, etc. Able to read blueprints. Knowledge of JCAHO, ILSMS, NFPA. Knowledge of construction administration, project management, and contractor bid selection, contractor management, and real estate design and facility renovation. Good interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and negotiation skills. Understanding of budgeting and purchasing processes. Strong client service skills, including understanding of customer needs and expectations and knowledge for improvement to exceed customer expectations. Ability to work with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority. Proficiency in the use of scheduling and project management systems. Ability to travel enterprise wide, to manage projects remotely located, and to manage multiple projects, contractors, architects and engineering firms. Some sedentary work and frequent walking. Relocate office equipment and/or furniture as necessary. Must possess clear and professional telephone voice. Good manual dexterity required. Must be able to communicate orally and with written/printed reports. Must be able to use typical office machines (phone, fax, copier, keyboard, etc.). Must be able to read computer screens and printed materials.
