We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our High Speed Weapons team in Melbourne. You will contribute to the design, production, test & evaluation of large solid rocket motors.
Based either at our Melbourne Office in the World Trade Centre or our Mitcham office on Wurundjeri land, and reporting directly to the Engineering Manager - High-Speed Weapons, your role will encompass:
-

Developing mechanical and aerospace components from concept to test under the supervision of a Senior Design Engineer.

  • Conducting engineering analysis in support of design work.
  • Developing test plans and conducting testing to support design work.
  • Engage with and support the activities of stakeholders including suppliers, customers and research
  • partners.
  • Writing & contributing to the development of technical reports.
  • Supporting production activities.

On day one in this role, we’ll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:

  • Over 3 years Design experience on mechanical, propulsion or aerospace related products
  • IEAust recognised Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree able to meet the requirements for Professional membership of Engineers Australia
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering analysis & problem solving
  • Sound drafting and CAD experience ideally CREO
  • Knowledge of and experience in the defence environment and military documentation standards are advantageous
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and contribute to a culture of creativity and teamwork
  • Knowledge of GD&T, 3D CAD and PLM Systems
  • Eligibility to obtain national security clearance(s)
