Description:
As an In-Service Support Design Engineer, you will be part of a specialized engineering group responsible for supporting a commercial aircraft program. You will play a critical role in assessing aircraft structural damage and providing repair solutions while collaborating with various teams, including stress engineering, materials, and processes. Your expertise will be crucial in responding to Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations, investigating in-service problems, and ensuring repairs comply with regulations and customer requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in aerospace repairs (In-service, MAP/MRB).
- Strong proficiency in CATIA V5 (preferably R19) and Enovia.
- Excellent knowledge of aircraft structure and familiarity with repair processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and challenge structural repairs.
- Energetic, committed, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage high-pressure situations in a partner/supplier environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong written and spoken English skills are required; knowledge of French is an asset.
- Knowledge of A220 engineering, drawing, and configuration control systems is an asset.
- Understanding of airline operations, engineering, and maintenance is an asset.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- In-service support experience in the aerospace industry.
- Familiarity with A220 engineering systems and airline maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities:
- Assess structural damage to aircraft and provide design solutions.
- Respond promptly to Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations and customer engineering requests.
- Investigate causes of in-service problems and determine effective repair solutions.
- Propose repair solutions that adhere to industry regulations and meet customer expectations.
- Collaborate closely with the stress department and specialists such as Aero and Materials & Processes.
- Prepare detailed design reports in English for certification purposes.
- Design repairs for both metallic and composite structures, including generic repair designs.
- Participate in the design and support of structural modifications to ensure optimal performance.
