Description:
The Engineering Design team is a dedicated team of engineering professionals and draftspersons that provide the necessary focus and discipline on managing the design activities across the entire Wilmar Sugar and Renewables business. The team is responsible for upholding the engineering and technical standards governance across the business, and ensuring all design activities are completed in accordance with both internal and external standards, and statutory requirements.
As a Design Engineer, your primary objective will be to deliver precise engineering design activities within established timelines for various asset classes across all factory sites.
This position offers flexibility in location, allowing you to be stationed at any of our milling sites. You could be in Ingham - a charming town known for its vibrant Italian heritage and lush wetlands, the Burdekin region - celebrated for its rich agricultural landscape and friendly community, or one of our Mackay region milling locations in Sarina or Proserpine - nestled in the beautiful Whitsunday regions, renowned for its stunning beaches and proximity to the Great Barrier Reef.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the completion of all engineering design activities across all sites and regions, for both maintenance and capital projects.
- Work closely with Reliability, Projects and Engineering Services teams to ensure design scopes, milestones and functional requirements are provided and clearly understood for design activities.
- Complete design activities in accordance with key milestone dates and within allocated budgets
- Undertake all engineering design activities in accordance with statutory acts and regulations, business standards, and relevant industry codes of practice.
- Work with external Engineering Design Consultancies to support the delivery of engineering and design activities and provide technical support in areas of specific expertise.
- Responsible for the development of equipment specifications, engineering drawings and documentation required for the general equipment installed within the business
- Support the design team to achieve the goals and objectives documented in the project business cases.
The Successful Applicant
Our ideal candidate will possess a degree in Engineering and demonstrate at least 2 years of practical experience in a technical role within a heavy industry environment. Experience in the sugar industry and proficiency in SAP software will be highly valued. Familiarity with engineering design programs and FEA modelling is desirable.
