What YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
In this position of Proposal / Design Engineer you will serve various industries like the Renewables, Chemicals, Pharmaceutical, Power, Oil & Gas and Datacenters. The role will involve the estimating and the creation of MRO proposals as well as the preparing of design documents for electrical heat tracing projects.

Responsibilities:

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Assessment of RFQ’s:
  • Review and analyze received requests for quotation both technically and commercially;
  • Develop bid strategy and subsequent implementation in conjunction with our sales teams;
  • Understand what the competition will offer to meet the same client requirements and how they will meet these requirements;
  • Support:
  • Attend bid clarification and project meetings where required.
  • Provide technical support and follow up on proposals;
  • Prepare:
  • Estimates including cost-models;
  • Put the proposal together including the writing of various sections based on “prepare to win” practices applied within our company;
  • Prepare Engineering and Design documentation.

You have:

  • Academic background in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in a proposal/ engineering role (preferably within the Process industry)
  • Skills:
  • Quick learner.
  • High level of accuracy and proficiency in processing data
  • Computer literate – proficient in a wide variety of MS Office programs (Word – Intermediate User, Excel – Advanced User , Outlook – Intermediate User)
  • Languages:
  • English and Swedish language skills, both written and verbal.
  • Some knowledge of power distribution and/ or Heat Tracing Applications.
  • Previous experience of preparing the commercial bid analysis, working closely with engineering department nVent Thermal in the competition of the bid analyst summary.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Be a self-starter / self-motivated, detail orientated and a good communicator (both written and oral)
  • Understand technically in-depth Industrial Heat Solutions (IHS) product lines and relevant (Special) Applications for which they can be used.
  • Analyze customer provided data and develop technical solutions that exceed client expectations whilst enhancing nVent Thermal Management chances of securing best Project Margin
  • Interpret P&ID, line lists, plot plans, piping isometrics, piping plan drawings, piping/electrical/insulation specifications, and bill of materials.
  • Produce calculations and Heat tracing Designs using in-house design software.
  • Abilities to meet the physical and environmental demands:
  • Working under pressure.
  • The work will be in a typical office environment.
  • Some assignments may require occasional travelling for customer visits (<10% of time).
