Description:
Northpower is seeking a dynamic Design Estimation Manager to lead our team in delivering exceptional design and tendering services for electrical distribution networks and customer-initiated projects.

Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
As a Design Estimation Manager, you will spearhead a team dedicated to providing comprehensive design and tendering services in line with customer requirements. Your role will significantly contribute to Northpower’s overall success by ensuring high-quality and compliant electrical designs. You’ll also:
- Guide and oversee a technical team focused on the design and estimation of electrical distribution projects.
- Develop designs and pricing for a wide range of projects, including overhead and underground services, network reinforcements, new supply connections, maintenance work, and capital work.
- Apply your extensive knowledge of HV and LV design standards, including overhead and underground services, to ensure all projects meet industry standards.
- Maintain effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are managed.
- Utilize design software packages commonly used in the distribution industry and Microsoft Office applications to enhance your workflow.
- Ensure all designs comply with health and safety and environmental legislation, and manage resource consents from local bodies.
- Collaborate with subcontractors for pricing and manage subcontract work in accordance with Northpower’s standards and procedures.
