QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in Design Engineering or relevant role in Mechanical Engineering and / or engineering leadership.
• Proficient user of 3D CAD for industrial design (both 3D/2D). Experienced in design of engineering components, both 2D & 3D, dimensioning, geometrical dimensioning & tolerance, in automotive industry.
• Leadership & ability to work across teams & with a strong business acumen. Strong organization & communication skills. Willingness to learn & positive mindset.
• Customer oriented approach. Ability to delegate. Ability to drive team development.Fluent in English, both speaking and writing, expected level B2 – intermediate.”

People Managment

• Matrix manager for designers. Supports their performance, skills and development.
• Supports hiring process, UCP and competencies evaluation for design roles/competencies.
• Support Design Contract Service Workers performance and related processes.

Design work management

• Supports work planning, prioritization and escalation for Lead Engineers groups and at Chief Engineer level.
• Responsible for Design work quality and related process of all inverter specialized designers across GBE
• Contact point for any design related escalations/issue within GBE, works with other GBE team members or X-functional teams to address reported issues.
• Tracks and provides required KPI and related data.

Design Functional Excellence

• Manage functional excellence of invereter design related proceses across GBE. That inlcudes: Design workflow, Design Quality Assurance processes, Lite FEA, Lite CFD, Stack-up methods, T/C, customer T/C drawing requirements, exchange CAD data processes, shape search etc.

• Works with functional teams and tools development, define GBE needs.Drives tools adoption (as new CAD systems - Onshape) and usage reporting if required. Evaluates, recommends and drives improvements in ECAD/MCAD tool integration, and integration with established Garrett processes/tools.

Technical Authority in Design Reviews

• Actively participates in project Design Reviews at all NPI phases.

• Responsible for having design criteria approval in NPI design reviews or manages other GBE designers in this area.Propose, review and approve changes in design documentation (DS,DG, EDI,..) to to drive GBE design team quality, productivity, DFM and standardization.
