Role: Design Lead
Location: Glasgow, United Kingdom (this role requires 2-3 days a week on-site)

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Working in true partnership with our longest-standing client, the Design Team Lead will lead a team of designers to produce creatively engaging and impactful work for our clients, the team, and themselves. Working in the financial service industry, this creative and passionate design leader will conceptualise and produce results-focused, fully integrated marketing campaigns for our client’s digital channels, websites and social media channels.
You’ll be an enthusiastic Design Lead with a minimum of 6-7 years of experience. Your portfolio will demonstrate your creativity and passion for design. You will be used to working in a fast-paced environment and delivering design to a high standard. You’ll be a creative leader who can inspire your team while rolling your sleeves up to deliver brilliant work. You’ll be a great team player with a client-centric focus and will possess the ability to build strong and effective working relationships within your team and with all clients at varying levels. You’ll be confident in your abilities and have a solution-focused mindset. You will be able to work under your own initiative while effectively managing workload and client timescales.
You’ll be a passionate, creative designer with an aptitude for learning new software and AI programs to drive efficiencies and effectiveness. A great communicator and lateral thinker with a focus on attention to detail.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Leadership and development of a dedicated team centred around creativity and design.
  • Effective daily management of the OLIVER team on-site studio; providing direction, key decision-making, support, and guidance as needed; helping the team elevate their creative output; always looking for opportunities to add value and bring more into the client’s world.
  • Responsible for generating and maintaining ongoing effective working relationships with senior client stakeholders, regularly communicating with them on progress, concerns and solutions. You’ll develop a deep understanding of the client’s marketing strategy, business problems and target audiences to deliver high-quality, impactful results.
  • You’ll oversee the full design lifecycle across digital and social platforms from concept to execution, pitching creative solutions in response to briefs.
  • You will be open and willing to attend sustainability training relevant to your role and soak up recommended research and reading about sustainability issues.
  • You will contribute towards Oliver’s drive for sustainability and change. We’d hope anyone joining our team would share our motivation to do better in terms of sustainability. We are always learning, so we look forward to you bringing your own creative approaches to the tackling the industry’s sustainability problem.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE GREAT IN THIS ROLE:

  • Excellent client engagement skills with the ability to proactively organise and influence clients and build strong and effective working relationships.
  • The ability to manage and develop junior team members providing mentoring.
  • Creative ability with strong Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop).
  • Experience in insurance, finance or similar corporate sectors would be beneficial.
