Project:
Based on anticipated growth and providing a resilient and reliable water supply to South West Sydney, Sydney Water prioritised the Prospect South to Macarthur (ProMac) project.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all engineering activities on EOI/RFP, FEED and EPC stages being responsible for design scope, budget, schedule, consultant contract negotiation and execution.
  • Management and engagement of consultants to produce key deliverables.
  • Provide oversight in optimising design concepts, identifying potential risks/opportunities and recommending improvements.
  • Manage schedules, budget and fee estimates for design activities by monitoring and documenting cost, identifying budget overrun and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee design and technical interfaces with any third-party scope and stakeholders.
  • Create, monitor and implement effective review processes for all engineering related documentation.
  • Develop and deliver the engineering processes (Design Assurance, Design Management Plan) as they relate to the project, influencing their application.
  • Ensure technical compliance with project requirements and with relevant building codes, regulations and standards.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related technical discipline, combined with significant and demonstrable EPC experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Design Management position
  • Experience within D&C environment or EPC projects such as Rail, Road and Renewables
  • Knowledge of EPC engineering, processes, and design management principles.
  • Advanced Written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed influencing and strong stakeholder management skills
  • Problem-solving, analytical thinking and leadership skills
