NGA PŪKENGA MATUA | IMPORTANT SKILLS
We are looking for individuals with the following skills and experience:
- A recognised tertiary qualification in the field of Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of experience working in a design office, including 5 years in a position of responsibility
- Knowledge and experience in the delivery of water infrastructure projects
- Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the use of a proprietary document system e.g. InEight or Aconex
Responsibilities:
The purpose of the Design Manager role is to ensure that the following design requirements are carried out on projects with a design phase, including:
- Understanding the scope of engineering and design services to be provided.
- Make sure that documents are controlled and coded following the WBS and Downer standards.
- Work closely with the procurement and construction team to develop construction methodology and procurement strategies.
- Develop a comprehensive list of required engineering and design activities and deliverables.
- Ensure that the appropriate design reviews are conducted and documented.
- Prepare and manage engineering and design estimates and work schedules in line with agreed deliverables and work breakdown structure. This includes ensuring that the design (e.g. models, calculations, drawings) matures through the necessary stages.
