The Role
Job Title: Senior / Design Manager (Data Centre) Location: Dubai, UAE Projects: UAE / UK Projects We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Design Manager with a strong background in data centre. Responsibilities: • Leads day-to-day coordination and delivery of information on time and within budget with day-to-day oversight and quality control on assigned work streams, ensuring design management function is aligned with other functional targets • Confirms client briefs • Prepares RFPs, recommendation, and analyses design consultant bids. • Prepares presentations, agendas, dashboards etc. tailored to the various audiences within the project team • Managing consultants’ design delivery from concept to detailed design, ensuring timelines, scope, quality, and budget are protected • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including project teams, consultants, contractors, and clients. • Provide technical leadership and guidance on different phases to ensure project specifications are met. • Participates in contractor tendering & evaluations • Good at undertaking reviews of multi-disciplinary design teams’ documentation, ensuring coordination across the team on the design proposals. Ensures to keep accurate records and follow protocols of information flows in accordance with Design Management Plan. • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in data centre design, construction, and sustainability initiatives.
Requirements
Technical Expertise. • Understanding of data centre standards, such as Tier levels, governed by the Uptime Institute, power and cooling requirements, and redundancy. • Ability to manage complex MEP requirements, including HVAC, electrical distribution, and backup systems. • Awareness of networking, server room layouts, cabling, and IT equipment needs. • Knowledge of energy-efficient systems, and experience in exploring ways to reduce the carbon footprint of the data centre Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, Design and Project Management, or related field • Extensive design management experience, with at least 3-5 years focused on data centres • Consultant / Client-side experience • Project planning / controls and commercial acumen • Proficiency in industry-standard design management tools and software’s • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills • Excellent time management and prioritization abilities • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
