Description:
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Qualified to HND or Degree level in a relevant Engineering discipline
- Previous design experience of multi utilities, including diversions
- Previous relevant project management and costing experience within the multi-utilities sector
- Knowledge of current relevant legislation, technical standards and specifications
- Previous experience in coordinating remote specialist design team resources, ie Structures, Geotech, and MEICA, in conjunction with remote team leads.
- Knowledge of the construction industry, NRSWA, Health & Safety and CDM regulations and industrial hazards and Health and Safety precautions
Responsibilities:
Morrison Utility Services is currently looking to recruit a Design Manager to work on our Caledonia Water Alliance contract in Stepps, Glasgow.
Caledonia Water Alliance will successfully and safely work with Scottish Water and Morrison Utility Services to jointly deliver SR21, a six year water and wastewater infrastructure capital investment programme for the highest level of customer satisfaction.
As the Design Manager your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Prepare multi utilities designs and project manages designs through the project design life-cycle ensuring quality, standards, and safety is addressed
- Maintain an audit trail of design records including calculations and assumptions made to support future audit, design, and design variation activity
- Ensure the most cost effective design solutions are achieved consistent with current industry standards
- Liaise with senior internal and external stakeholders to obtain design approval and procure, accept and co-ordinate final points of connection
- Participate in hand-over meetings with operational Team Leader in office and onsite
- Control and monitor project costs, materials ordering and customer invoicing
