MOBIA is currently recruiting a Design Technician to join our team fully remote. This position plays a crucial role in supporting our design team. You will collaborate closely with engineers and designers to translate concepts into products, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of related post-secondary education such as a Bachelor of Engineering and/or a Diploma in Civil Engineering or Certified Engineer Technologist.
- Excellent software skills with a high attention to detail.
- Experience working with Quick Pole and/or SPIDACalc and/or PLS-CADD.
- Customer Service-focused individuals who take pride in delivering high-quality products.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of Telecommunication outside the plant would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience in the electrical or telecom field designing aerial and underground networks would be an asset.
- Experience with QGIS is an asset.
- Experience with AutoCAD is an asset.

Responsibilities:
- Collect, analyze and organize basic engineering data as well as evaluate and interpret field surveys.
- Designing appropriate access network facilities in a timely fashion to meet customer service dates using standard technologies and establishing project milestones for service delivery.
- Design engineering drawings and reports to industry standards including CSA & ESA 22/04.
- Analysis of pole lines for required conductor spacing, separation, clearance and physical element strength under ice and wind loading, using CSA standards.
- Ensuring design drawings and calculation packages are completed by appropriate deadlines.
- Other duties as required.
