Our locally owned and operated business includes an innovative showroom and test kitchen, equipment inventory, white-glove delivery team and skilled stainless installation team. With people and service at the heart of everything you do, as Design Technologist, you will support the process by creating SolidWorks fabrication design drawings for assigned projects. Reporting the to Fabrication Design Manager, the role will also support day-to-day collaboration with internal stakeholders and deliver project drawing packages. You are creative and flexible in your approach to solutions-based thinking and are challenged to exceed industry standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Create accurate and detailed 3D CAD models, layout, shop drawings and BOM of kitchen products from preliminary concepts using SolidWorks
  • Produce drawing packages conforming to specifications and ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations
  • Communicate eectively with designers and project managers to provide updates, gather feedback, and review design drawings
  • Prepare technical reports, assembly specifications and material estimates
  • Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance drafting eiciency
  • Meet deadlines and project goals

Capabilities & Experience:

  • Academic background in industrial design or a related field (Minimum 2 to 3-year college certificate)
  • Extensive experience using SolidWorks for 3D modeling (Minimum 2 to less than 3 years
  • Experience in creating detailed technical drawings
  • Experience with other CAD software and tools relevant to the industry can be beneficial such as AutoCAD
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities and assignment due dates
  • Knowledge of commercial kitchen layouts, workflows, and equipment
  • Experience producing comprehensive technical documentation, including assembly instructions and bills of materials (BOM)
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including fabricators and project managers
  • Strong communication skills, (language of work is English)

Wage

  • $32 to $36/hr depending on experience
  • 40 hours per week
  • 2-year contract
