We are looking for an enthusiastic and results-driven individual to join our team as a Design Technician at our newly renovated head office in Coquitlam, B.C. Reporting directly to the Design Manager, this role will be responsible for analyzing and transferring information from the Sales Department into design programs to create preliminary, permit and construction drawings. Success in this role entails achieving design targets, supporting material take-offs, communicating proficiently, addressing and resolving design concerns, and delivering precise and accurate drawings with a high level of attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience in custom single-family residential construction design work.
  • Manufacturing technology, especially related to wood frame construction, wall panels, timber frame and building manufacturing
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints
  • Working knowledge of the Revit
  • MiTek experience is preferred but not required
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Architectural Building and technology Diploma or equivalents preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering precise and accurate drawings that meet all technical and design specifications using Revit with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Efficiently and accurately achieving set design volume targets, ensuring all project requirements and specifications are met within the designated timeframes.
  • Supporting the Tamlin team in conducting materials take-offs, contributing to the accurate estimation of required materials for various projects.
  • Proactively identifying and addressing design issues, ensuring all concerns are resolved promptly and effectively to maintain project integrity and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with all staff using good communication skills.
