Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Designer produces and details routine drawings/layouts of components, facilities and/or systems. Generates and/or modifies computer-aided design (CAD) drawings of various complexities based on information from others. Uses industry codes, standards, and customers specifications to prepare work plans, drawings, models, and layouts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Proficient in CAD software, drawing programs, and 3D modeling tools
· Excellent knowledge of architectural and engineering design principles
· Solid math and analytical skills
· Proficient in MS Office
· Ability to meet tight deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Must be able to obtain and retain a security clearance
· Working knowledge of, and experience using Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principals preferred

EDUCATION:

· High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a design drafter or a similar role
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, design, or a similar field preferred
· Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit, and AutoCAD experience preferred

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Works with engineering team to ensure drawing quality
  2. Develops CAD drawings and design models
  3. Develops Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
  4. Performs calculations in support of technical problems
  5. Applies engineering design principles for design and fabrication of components and assemblies as directed
  6. Produces work in accordance with budget and schedule constraints
  7. Understands fabrication, construction, operation, and maintenance requirements relevant to designated disciplines
  8. Works independently and as part of a team
  9. Select structural materials required for designs
  10. Calculate dimensions, weight limitations, and measurements for designs
  11. Create diagrams and layouts to illustrate the workflow of designs
  12. Ensure designs comply with company regulations and quality standards
  13. Set up drawing formats and configuration files
  14. Performs other duties as assigned
