We are looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our team!
Primary Responsibilities:
- Reviews and understands design specifications and requirements for assigned work
- Prepares designs, calculations, drawings and parts lists for the construction of industrial valve assemblies and associated parts
- Ensures that designs meet the requirements of applicable codes and standards as well as basics of sound engineering practice
- Performs engineering analysis of designs and parts
- Ensures design for manufacturability and maintenance
- Ensures designs meet Velan engineering standards and requirements
- Completes assigned tasks within time and budget constraints

REQUIREMENTS
If you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology, or the equivalent
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- 2 to 5 years experience in a similar position
- Experience in an industrial equipment manufacturing environment - an asset
- Strong understanding of design engineering methods and processes
- Good understanding of machining and assembly methods
- Knowledge and experience using 3D solid modeling CAD systems (Pro/Engineer, Catia)
- Knowledge and experience using engineering and design analytical software (ANSYS, CFX, MathCAD, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience with valve and pressure vessel design standards and procedures, including ASME, API, ISO, MSS, BS, DIN, etc.
