We are looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our team!

Primary Responsibilities:

• Reviews and understands design specifications and requirements for assigned work
• Prepares designs, calculations, drawings and parts lists for the construction of industrial valve assemblies and associated parts
• Ensures that designs meet the requirements of applicable codes and standards as well as basics of sound engineering practice
• Performs engineering analysis of designs and parts
• Ensures design for manufacturability and maintenance
• Ensures designs meet Velan engineering standards and requirements
• Completes assigned tasks within time and budget constraints

REQUIREMENTS

If you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology, or the equivalent
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
• 2 to 5 years experience in a similar position
• Experience in an industrial equipment manufacturing environment - an asset
• Strong understanding of design engineering methods and processes
• Good understanding of machining and assembly methods
• Knowledge and experience using 3D solid modeling CAD systems (Pro/Engineer, Catia)
• Knowledge and experience using engineering and design analytical software (ANSYS, CFX, MathCAD, etc.)
• Knowledge and experience with valve and pressure vessel design standards and procedures, including ASME, API, ISO, MSS, BS, DIN, etc.
