DESKTOP SUPPORT ANALYST

We are seeking a versatile and motivated Desktop Support Analyst (Temp) to join our team. This role is designed to provide essential support to our service desk and internal workforce while also contributing to broader IT initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of skills in desktop support, network management, security configurations, and Microsoft 365 administration, enabling them to effectively manage and troubleshoot a range of IT systems and services. This is a temporary position with the potential to contribute significantly to the success of our technology operations, and it may open doors to further opportunities within our team based on performance and organizational needs.
The position will report to the Chief Information Security Officer.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • End-User Support: Provide first-line support for desktop, laptop, and mobile device issues, including software installations, hardware troubleshooting, and peripheral setup.
  • Service Desk Operations: Respond to service desk tickets, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely follow-up and resolution for end-users.
  • Network Management: Assist in monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network connectivity, including wired and wireless networks.
  • Security Configurations: Assist as needed in implementing and maintaining security configurations on devices and systems, ensuring compliance with company policies and best practices.
  • Asset Management: Track and manage IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and equipment inventory.
  • Device Management: Assist in the deployment, configuration, and management of devices using MDM solutions.
  • Microsoft 365 Administration: Support the administration of Microsoft 365 services, including user account management, email configurations, and SharePoint site administration.
  • Technology Projects: Contribute to technology initiatives, including network upgrades, system migrations, and security audits as needed.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.

Qualifications

  • Education and Certifications:
  • Associate’s degree in a technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ are strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Experience with network configuration and management, including VLANs, firewalls, and wireless networks.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and experience with implementing security configurations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration, including user management and service configurations.
  • Experience with asset management tools and processes.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar IT support or systems administration role.
  • Experience working in a service desk environment and supporting end-users directly.
