About the role

The purpose of the function “Destination Coordinator” is to have the responsibility of all activities of Destination Management, MICE & Specialized biz operations in the given area/region, this including marketing, promotion, sales activities & product development, acting as the advisor being the destination expert. This position also entails end to end event/project management and manage the full scope of own events, from answering the client request/brief with the best tailored proposal to financial reconciliation. This needs to be done with strong commitment to the company and its policies.

  • In charge of executing business according to the defined destination market strategy, defined workflow, guiding principles, procedures, and training.
  • Checking itineraries and services quoted by sales to ensure feasibility and making suggestions where necessary to maximize contribution to margin
  • Be on-site/ available during key event days (defined together with the line manager)
  • Control cost and optimize profit.
  • Ensure all business activities comply with relevant financial, industry compliance, legislative, legal demands, and ethical standards of the organization.
  • Planning, budgeting, conception, organization, and completion of the project.
  • Correspondence (answering questions, booking services, managing payment…) during the preparation phase.
  • Keeping track of and reporting on project progress
  • Provide active and ongoing support and knowledge transfer to the Company´s sales organizations,
  • Deliver on teams agreed SLA´s
  • Investigate and resolve service complaints on own projects
  • Creating and ongoing support of your destination marketing toolkit, through tools and unique selling points for the end clients and for Sales to use
  • Assist in building a network of key relationships within your destination
  • Coordinate destination strategy discussions with Sales and Procurement
  • Upselling and distribution of new destination itineraries and activities
  • Attend and lead inspections, FAM trips & client meetings
  • Supplier management & procurement support to maximize value creation
  • Comply with company standards and use all in-house IT tools effectively
  • Support enrollment of suppliers onto company online working systems (e.g., Partners, BaVel etc.)
  • Close cooperation, task management within team of CEE region.
  • Undertake project work as required by management.
  • Experience in Tourism, Event Management or DMC field at least 2 years
  • Fluent in English and Hungarian. Written and verbal language skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Programs, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook mainly
  • Customer focus, confident and polite attitude
  • Ability detecting and preventing issues, problem solving.
  • Excellent ability to communicate, liaise, negotiate and influence decision makers both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex, diverse and changing environment.
  • Geographic knowledge of Hungary
