MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or a closely related field and a valid driver’s license.
OR
An Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or a closely related field and a valid driver’s license.
OR
High School Diploma and have at least one (1) year of direct work experience in security, law enforcement, social services, group homes, or a closely related experience involving work with or exposure to at-risk children and/or juveniles. A valid driver’s license is also required.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

This classification requires the applicant to pass extensive criminal background and reference checks. This position requires the incumbent to become and remain certified in CPR and First Aid. Incumbents may be required to work overtime should it be deemed necessary to maintain safe staffing levels. This position also requires the incumbent to become certified in the use of.2% Oleoresin Capsicum (O.C.) and certain unarmed physical restraint techniques.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work may involve exposure to infectious diseases, and potential injury from hostile, anti-social people within and related to detainees. This position may require that the incumbent occasionally lift and carry heavy, bulky items weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds.
