Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Development Assessment Officer, you will:
- Assess development and subdivision certificate applications.
- Provide professional planning advice to Council and the community.
- Investigate and respond to complaints, unauthorised developments, and nuisances.
- Prepare and issue accurate Section 10.7 Planning Certificates.
- Represent Council in court proceedings when required.
- Contribute to the development of policies and reports to support Council objectives.
To excel in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or Building Surveying (or current enrolment in such studies).
- A valid Class C driver’s licence.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and codes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer and keyboard skills
