Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Development Assessment Officer, you will:

  • Assess development and subdivision certificate applications.
  • Provide professional planning advice to Council and the community.
  • Investigate and respond to complaints, unauthorised developments, and nuisances.
  • Prepare and issue accurate Section 10.7 Planning Certificates.
  • Represent Council in court proceedings when required.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and reports to support Council objectives.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or Building Surveying (or current enrolment in such studies).
  • A valid Class C driver’s licence.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and codes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer and keyboard skills
