SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to translate complicated information into plain English for different audiences.
  • Ability to create engaging content for articles, social media, mailouts, and other communications.
  • Ability to collate and analyse data and present in reports.
  • Experienced in supporting the operation of customer facing activities and assisting in the planning, set up and delivery of these activities.
  • Experienced in liaising with various internal and external stakeholders at different levels.
  • Ability to use social media platforms to create and publish content and interact with customers (students, alumni, employers, staff) - Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel and ability to use a range of IT and management information systems and to learn and use new IT platforms, online resources, and software.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and, to take the initiative to solve problems creatively and deal with issues whilst recognising boundaries.
  • Ability to work in an agile way, working in a fast paced, evolving environment, adapting priorities as necessary, including cover for other colleagues, learning new skills and taking.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Development Co-ordinator role supports the development, promotion and delivery of the Careers and Employability Services (CES) through technical, communication, administrative and operational activities. The role contributes to student and alumni service promotion and communication; manages social media; ensures accessibility of resources and supports and maintains the CES online self-help offer including external platforms.
The role is part of the university wide Careers and Employability Services which helps thousands of people realise their life and career ambitions.
It is anticipated that a hybrid working pattern can be adopted for this role, where the successful candidate can work from home and the office. However, some flexibility is required as this role is aligned to our Nottingham office and therefore it is expected that some attendance in the office will be required when necessary and in response to business needs.

This is a part time position of 18.5 hours per week with a preferred work pattern of Monday (7.5 hours) Tuesday (3.5 hours) and Wednesday (7.5 hours)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting the promotion and engagement of students and alumni with CES through the co-production of a monthly newsletter, creating blog articles, writing, scheduling, responding to social media accounts and monitoring impact. Providing consultative support to other CES colleagues to produce marketing and communication messages.
  • Monitoring, updating, and supporting the operation of online activities such as forums and webinars. Assisting in planning, setting up and delivery of these activities.
  • Supporting the development maintenance and monitoring of online career resources including careers and employability related online articles, tools, and platforms.
  • Liaising with other specialist university teams to arrange and co-ordinate marketing and communications and to support the effective design and use of online activities and resources.
  • Supporting the development and co-ordination of processes and standards across CES related to delivery and quality assurance, and to assist in related staff development and support.
  • Assist in monitoring, collating, and data related to feedback, Student Voice, service delivery and development projects. Analysing data to provide insights and report on the impact of services.
  • Contributing to equality diversity and inclusion, ensuring accessibility of resources and services through format design and content checking.
  • Supporting the production and editing of a wide range of resources including graphics, information sheets, PowerPoint presentations, and video and audio material.
  • Providing adhoc administrative support development projects, trials, and delivery of services.
