WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU BRING?

  • Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (e.g. Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering, Planning/Development), with additional courses in real estate, appraisals, negotiations and/or conflict resolution and directly related experience in the property industry, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Thorough knowledge of property negotiations and leases.
  • Ability to lead complex negotiations with minimal supervision, and ability to resolve conflicts of a legal and/or technical nature.
  • Ability to read and understand conceptual architectural and engineering drawings, combined with a general knowledge of office and operational space design, common planning, engineering and construction practices.
  • Attend working committees and meetings, representing the TTC’s property interests, as directed by the Director.
  • Prepare various reports, presentations, etc. relating to area of responsibility.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer focus, oral and written communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

As the Development Coordinator, you will assist the Director - Office and Operational Space in various activities relating to TTC’s property assets including space planning, property and development transactions, various legal agreements, board reports and leases in coordination with the City of Toronto, Corporate Real Estate Management (CREM).
As the Development Coordinator, you will manage property assets, which may include space planning and optimization for various TTC user groups, agreements in coordination with CREM for property lease, lease extensions, lease renewal, construction, operating/maintenance, etc. The incumbent will manage decommissioning and disposition of the TTC’s property assets as well as assist CREM in negotiations from development concept to the execution of agreements.
You will obtain necessary cost estimates for TTC fit-out work directly related to development projects or agreements, for discussion with various parties.
The incumbent will also provide financial and policy analysis on options/approaches to property use and/or disposition and support implementation of strategies to review and determine current and future needs for office and operational space across various TTC client departments in accordance with the TTC’s 2022-2036 Real Estate Investment Plan (REIP) and its long-term approach to managing its real estate assets and property requirements.
