In this role, you will be part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, IDD, which develops, manufactures, and markets diagnostic tests for allergy, asthma, and autoimmune diseases. With 1,900 employees worldwide, IDD is the world leader in in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) of allergy and the leader in autoimmune diagnostics in Europe. Uppsala, with approximately 800 employees, is the division’s largest site with both development and manufacturing.
We are looking for a Development Engineer for the Diagnostic Sample Unit (DSU) group which is responsible for the company’s needs of human test fluids (serum and plasma samples). This means everything from purchasing, and screening, to handling and manufacturing of samples. The serum and plasma samples are then used in the development and control of the company’s allergy diagnostic products.
In the role as Development engineer at DSU, you will:
- be responsible for analyzing incoming serum and plasma using our Phadia instruments.
- work with compiling and analyzing data and work practically in the lab with the manufacture and delivery of samples that are later used in product development projects. To your help, you will use our internal laboratory data system.
- take care of our incoming samples and ensure that they are registered in our database.
- actively participate in the team’s quality work and development.
EDUCATION
- College/university education with a natural science focus, e.g. Biomedical science, biology, biochemistry.
EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of allergy/immunology or the company’s products and test systems.
- Experience from qualification of equipment.
- Worked according to quality management systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
