Job Description
Renishaw is seeking to recruit a Development Machinist within the NPI Team at Stonehouse. This role will include manufacturing Injection Mould Tooling, Fixtures and Machined Parts to support the plastics manufacturing team.
The position is for a double day shift working pattern.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture of consistently high quality Injection Mould Tool components, delivered in line with project timescales. This will include drawing interpretation, process development, creation of NC programs using NX CAM system, tool selection and fixture design and manufacture where require
  • Inspection of components using a range of measuring equipment, including Coordinate Measuring Machines and on machine verification(OMV).
  • Liaison with production engineers from the early stages of new part development.
  • Development of in-house processes, tooling and the associated DFM guidance
  • Designing fixtures to aid the manufacture on Injection Mould Tools using NX CAD software.
  • The CNC program and manufacture of Vacuum Form Tools for the Packaging Team.
  • Supporting current production processes and tooling for tool repairs.

Key requirements

  • The minimum qualification of an HNC (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of manual and automated CMM inspection.
  • Expert knowledge of CNC manufacturing.
  • Broad knowledge of CAM systems
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High level of computer literacy
  • High level of practical assembly skills.
  • A practical knowledge of cutting tool selection - especially for complex 3D geometries.

Desirable requirements

  • Previous experience of Mould Tool manufacture.
  • Broad knowledge of alternative manufacturing processes
  • Practical experience of injection Mould Tool construction and assembly.
  • An understanding of the Injection Moulding process.
  • Experience of NX CAD/CAM Systems.

Person specification
The successful applicant will be a highly organised self‑starter with a meticulous approach to work and a high level of attention to detail. They will possess excellent team-working skills. They will need the ability to confidently discuss design options and their influence on part manufacture.
