QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Must be solution-oriented and able to work independently to successfully complete projects on deadline. Excellent command of the English language, both oral and written with a high level of creativity, attention to detail and superior customer service skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook). Must have initiative mixed with good, sound judgment, and a high level of discretion to handle sensitive information. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a dynamic team environment across multiple divisions.

Patient safety is a top priority. Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work collaboratively with Sylvester and DAR to implement a strategic and multi-faceted development plan to attract, retain, and increase the support of leadership level donors ($1,000 - $100,000 annual giving).
  • Manage portfolio of leadership level prospects.
  • Leads research and discovery efforts to identify current donors with potential to elevate their giving.
  • In consultation with Executive Director, identify, cultivate and elevate prospective major gift donors (up to $100K)
  • Work with philanthropic giving and digital engagement team to identify leadership level prospects from direct mail donors.
  • Create communication plan to engage and steward donors meaningfully and increase giving levels.
  • In coordination with Executive Director, identify events and activities to cultivate and grow major donor interest.
  • Document all contacts, communications, interactions, and opportunities in i-BIS and other appropriate donor records.
  • Prepare written proposals for prospects and donors.
  • Collaborate with respective POA and research teams to build out a strong pipeline internally and externally.
  • Meet performance objectives by maintaining a high level of development activity that results in funding and in the identification of “new” prospects each year.
  • Measurements of success for Development Officer:
  • Demonstrate significant and continuous progress toward campaign or multi-year project goals. Dollar goals established with supervisor.
  • Make an appropriate amount of substantive cultivation and solicitation actions toward closing gifts. Numbers established with supervisor.
  • Reach individual yearly goals for “number and amounts solicited” and “number and amounts funded.” Reach additional goals as acting as a collaborator. Number established with supervisor.
  • Manage an appropriate number of active prospects and active proposals. Number and amounts to be established with supervisor.
