Responsibilities:
Gift Cultivation and Solicitation (80%)
1. Design and implement annually a fundraising plan based on university objectives, working in conjunction with academic leaders the Senior Director of Strategic Gifts, Sr. Associate Director(s) and the Associate Vice President for Development.
2. Identify, cultivate and solicit individuals and families as cleared through Prospect Development, believed to have potential to make major gifts to university interests.
3. Develop and manage a portfolio of approximately 100 active major gift prospects. The successful candidate will also be given a geographic region in addition to a college/university program liaison responsibility. One of the positions will be a dedicated liaison with the Division of Student Affairs.
4. Sustain a level of major gifts activity commensurate with performance expectations of major gifts staff. Development performance will be measured by mutually agreed upon metrics.
5. Collaborate with the Offices of Annual Giving, Planned Giving, Corporate and Foundation Relations, Principal Giving and Athletics to seek gifts for the university.
Alumni Activities, Public Relations, and Stewardship (20%)
1. Work with other Advancement offices as appropriate, to design and implement recognition, stewardship activities and special events for donors and prospects affiliated with the university.
2. Assist other offices within University Advancement as necessary to advance the goals of the division.
3. Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Director of Strategic Gifts and the Associate Vice President for Development.
