As a DevOps Advocate (f/m/d) you will be responsible for helping define and scale out our DevOps communications, education, and adoption within GEA Digital. In this role, you will use your enthusiasm and passion for DevOps, as well as your creativity and expertise, to generate interest, support, and adoption of DevOps culture, best practices, and technologies among developers.
The GEA Digital Hub Düsseldorf is dedicated to digitalizing GEA’s customer interface, creating new digital products and services, and establishing innovative business models. Working collaboratively with digital units across all divisions, the Hub offers GEA-wide platforms, services, and methods to support these efforts. Your responsibilities:

  • Help selecting and delivering the right tools and processes so that the team can deliver fast and efficiently.
  • Drive development and adoption of CI/CD processes across different divisions and departments.
  • Standardize as much as possible and define global solutions where applicable.
  • Create pipeline templates, add-ons, integrations and extensions to be reused by applications teams.
  • Collaborate with the Security Team to successfully implement security best practices into the GEA Cloud Platform

Your profile and qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development, cloud computing, and infrastructure automation.
  • Proficient in at least one public cloud platform, such as AWS, Azure (preferable), or GCP, and have experience in designing and deploying cloud-native architectures and services.
  • Experience in designing and implementing continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for applications and infrastructure components, including version control, automated testing, and deployment automation.
  • Experience in designing and implementing robust monitoring and logging systems to ensure platform stability, performance, and security.
  • Familiar with security best practices and compliance requirements and have experience in implementing security controls, such as identity and access management, network security, and data encryption.
  • Strong communication skills, high team orientation, determination to be successful and enthusiasm about new technologies
  • Fluent English language skills; solid German is a plus
