Description:

Wapice ramps up dozens of new software projects every year, ranging from short sprints to products with decade-long lifespans. Our customers require high scalability and modern quality assurance. Efficient development and team motivation requires proper tooling and processes. We develop and maintain our standard toolkit and way of working, but often also seamlessly join the development teams of our world class customers using their infrastructure. In both cases, we focus on continuous improvement in how the software is being developed.

We have an exciting opportunity for a DevOps Consultant!
What is DevOps work at Wapice?
As a DevOps Consultant you will be making sure the development team automates boring routines, keeps the product always in good shape and avoids maintenance nightmares. You will specialize on modern deployment technologies such as microservices and cloud platforms.
You will be working with our agile teams that consist of the industry’s top experts. This includes developers, testers, data engineers and designers, from Wapice and from customer’s side.
What are the skills we are looking for?
We are seeking a consultant-minded person with several years of hands-on experience in software development involving both coding and DevOps related responsibilities. We hope you feel yourself comfortable in customer interface and already have experience in helping customer in terms of choosing most effective tools and technologies.

Regarding beneficial technical skills, our next DevOps Consultant hopefully has experience in several of the following:

  • Cloud service operations, maintenance, troubleshooting and optimization
  • Infrastructure automation (e.g. Terraform, Helm, Vagrant)
  • Containers and microservice deployments (e.g. Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
  • DevOps platforms (Azure Devops, Gitlab, Github, Atlassian)
  • CI/CD pipelines (Integrated, or standalone such as Jenkins)
  • Linux server environments maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Scripting (Python, Bash, Powershell)
  • Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
  • Understanding of the importance of good documentation

  • Deployment strategies and rollback
  • Dependency management

  • Diagnostics for software and infrastructure

  • DevSecOps and security integrations

Our recruitment process includes 1 or 2 interviews, where we discuss both technical and work personality related topics. In some cases we use short technical assignments also.
