Job Summary:
As a DevOps Engineer (Cloud Engineer Operations), you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure. You will be involved in daily operations, incident management, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring our systems are robust, secure, and efficient. You will actively participate in agile scrum practices, collaborate with stakeholders to gather and implement technical requirements, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues. Your work will contribute to our operational excellence, innovation, and the overall maturity of our IT roadmap.
What you will do:

Agile Scrum Practices

  • Actively participate in daily standups, backlog refinement, planning, and sprint retrospectives.
  • Contribute to agile methodologies and improve team practices.
  • Provide necessary technical support to existing applications and their supporting infrastructure.
  • Share insights and knowledge across IT Agile teams.

Daily Operations

  • Manage daily operations, incidents, and requests following HOOPP’s processes.
  • Ensure operational tasks are performed efficiently and effectively.
  • Focus on technical delivery and operational excellence for projects and initiatives.
  • Adhere to defined change management and incident management standards.
  • Support the resolution of complex production issues involving multiple systems and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather business and technical requirements

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Develop and maintain service metrics dashboards for all systems and dependent components.
  • Use data to drive improvements and operational decisions.
  • Support and sustain continuous technology and process improvements.
  • Regularly update internal knowledge base articles and participate in team retrospectives.

Continuous Process Improvement

  • Improve system uptime and resiliency based on performance data.
  • Identify repetitive tasks and develop tools/processes for automation.
  • Build automation tools to eliminate low-value, repetitive tasks.
  • Contribute to design sessions and support the community of subject matter experts.
  • Develop standards, patterns, and practices to enhance services and platforms.
  • Demonstrate innovations and support knowledge-sharing across teams.
  • Continuously improve triage and escalation processes for system availability.

  • Cloud Platforms: Microsoft & AWS Cloud (IaaS).
  • Cloud Networking: Azure Networking, AWS Networking, WAN Technologies, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, Azure Virtual WAN, VPNs, Landing Zone, Service Endpoints.
  • On-Premises Infrastructure: Hyperconverged infrastructure for storage and compute.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Ansible, Terraform.

What you bring:

  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years of IT operations.
  • Proficiency and working knowledge in multiple areas listed in our technology stack.
  • Proficiency at managing relationships, Collaborative and a strong team player.
