As a member of the Infrastructure Engineering team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining tooling, and supporting Toast’s core infrastructure within AWS and adjacent technologies. The systems involved include but are not limited to the following:
- Network / VPC topology
- Compliance tooling and reporting for PCI, SOX, SOC 2, and GDPR
- CNAPP tooling
- Monitoring and observability
- Cost management
- Application hosting and orchestration infrastructure
- Data-layer infrastructure (relational and non-relational databases)
You will work with engineering and product staff in Ireland, India, and the US to enable Toast to continue to grow its application offerings and support its existing workloads.
This is a hybrid role located in Dublin, Ireland.

- Build infrastructure and software-defined networking in AWS, including integrating with external systems (SaaS, partner networks)
- Use your familiarity with DevOps methodologies and practices to foster a culture of quality while facilitating developer velocity
Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)
- Deep experience with public cloud computing environments such as AWS, GCP, Azure
- Experience maintaining large-scale infrastructure, including both production and nonproduction workloads, and configuration management
- Experience building automation tooling in a modern programming language (preferably Go or Python)
- Strong technical background
- You believe internal tools deserve unit tests
- Experience working with relational and nonrelational databases (PostgreSQL or DynamoDB a plus)
- Experience with Linux
- Substantial experience with version control software
- Experience with modern CI/CD tools
- Prior experience with containerization and orchestration technologies
