- Past experience deploying and managing medium- or large-scale web application stacks: LAMP, load balancers, Elastic, caching layers such memcache, etc.

  • Experience working within on-demand cloud platforms, such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and are comfortable interacting with technical client representatives.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable engaging others for assistance and information, and managing a prioritized work queue.
  • Can comfortably converse and communicate in English and German.
  • Must be able to pass a background check (a requirement for some security-conscious clients)

Responsibilities:

Requirements:
As a Devops Engineer in Kaltura’s Product Division, you will deploy video infrastructure and applications to meet the business goals of some of Kaltura’s largest and most sophisticated clients. You will be responsible for the deployment, tuning, and maintenance of large-scale video management and video delivery solutions that are hosted in our clients’ private environments (including public cloud, private cloud, or data centers). This is a client-facing role that requires strong interpersonal skills.
A successful engineer at Kaltura is a technologist who possesses a balance of technical depth and creative problem-solving ability. You must bring a strong understanding of Linux system administration, modern DevOps tools and practices (e.g. Ansible, CloudFormation, Containrnization), and a self-determined attitude. You will learn Kaltura’s wide-ranging video platform and product suite, and masters cutting-edge video use cases
This role is open to remote candidates in Germany, some business travel is required (less than 10% of the time).

The day-to-day

  • Work directly with client’s IT or engineering departments to scope and design deployments of Kaltura’s video technology stack, and related web applications.
  • Deploy, manage, tune, and maintain customer video platforms, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Orchestrate the deployment of video delivery and video caching infrastructure to tens or hundreds of client sites using Ansible or similar tools.
  • Develop monitoring plans, and integrate client deployments into Kaltura’s monitoring solutions.
  • Work closely with other engineering team members to improve deployment tools and processes.
  • Collaborate with members of our R&D and core platform teams to improve Kaltura’s platform based on real-world use cases.
  • Assist Kaltura’s Customer Care team in reviewing incoming support cases from flagship clients.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to support Kaltura’s most business-critical environments.

Ideally, we’re looking for

  • Hands-on experience with automation tools like Ansible.
  • Experience in Linux system administration (command line).
