We are at the forefront of providing the services that underpin the society’s credit decisioning functionality and you will be part of a team at the focal point of our current and future Risk Hub AWS cloud platform.
This role is within the Central functions Credit Risk area, which is responsible for provide credit risk decision across Nationwide.

ABOUT YOU

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing Continuous Integration (CI) via tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions to enhance our development pipeline capabilities.
  • Utilising Infrastructure as Code (IAC) principles with Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning.
  • Creating and maintaining automation scripts using Groovy and Python.
  • Demonstrating the ability to rapidly acquire and apply new technologies.
  • Leveraging AWS services, including API Gateway and S3, to enhance our cloud infrastructure.
  • Managing and optimising serverless application like aws lambda.
  • Managing and optimising our Kubernetes container platform (EKS on AWS).
  • Overseeing the Kubernetes upgrade process to ensure seamless transitions
  • Working with SonarQube, snyk and advanced GitHub security tools to bolster code quality and security.

We are looking for in depth knowledge & some hands-on experience of the following.

  • Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
  • Infrastructure as code using Terraform in an Enterprise Context
  • Automation using Groovy/Python
  • Cloud AWS Services like API gateway, S3, lambda and IAM
  • Serverless Architecture
  • Experience to work with and deploy .Net based API
  • Kubernetes Container platform

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and ongoing development of our Risk hub cloud platform.
Working alongside the delivery teams you will interact collaboratively with others to build the best solution for Nationwide. Utilising your SME knowledge to offer advice/consultancy, develop new systems and work through problems to provide solid working solutions within the Kubernetes / API space. Providing guidance and direction to less experienced Engineers to help create fit for purpose designs and/or solutions to meet the team objectives. You may be required to work on-call from time to time.
