Job Summary:
The Corporate Solutions Group is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer (Network & Cloud Infrastructure) to join our IT for Enterprise team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a technical network infrastructure specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and operating our network, datacenter infrastructure, and cloud environment. You will collaborate with a team of engineers and analysts dedicated to improving systems and providing exceptional service to our internal stakeholders. What you will do:

Agile Scrum Practices

  • Actively engage in agile scrum practices, including daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Daily Operations

  • Handle daily operations, incidents, and requests according to HOOPP’s established processes.
  • Focus on technical delivery and operational excellence in project initiatives.
  • Assess, design, build, and support new features and enhancements.
  • Adhere to change management, incident management, and other defined standards.
  • Lead and support the resolution of complex production issues involving multiple systems and technologies.
  • Develop and maintain service metrics dashboards for all systems and dependent components.
  • Support and sustain continuous improvements in technology and processes.
  • Regularly write and update internal knowledge base articles and participate in issue and team retrospectives.
  • Stay current on new features and developments in the enterprise space.
  • Collaborate with vendors and support the scheduling of upgrades.
  • Work with Managed Services Providers to ensure uptime, product currency, and adherence to Service Level Objectives.
  • Participate in the on-call and weekend rotation for after-hours support and incident management.

System Performance and Automation

  • Improve system uptime and resiliency based on reported system performance data.
  • Identify repetitive tasks and develop tools or processes for automation.
  • Lead and contribute to design sessions and support the community of subject matter experts.
  • Develop standards, patterns, and practices to enhance services and platforms.
  • Demonstrate innovations and support knowledge-sharing across other IT Agile teams.

Collaboration and Improvement

  • Collaborate with the Product Owner, architects, and Portfolio Lead to mature HOOPP’s roadmaps, standards, and practices.
  • Continuously improve the triage and escalation process for system availability.
  • Maintain a security mindset to ensure HOOPP is protected, and risks are mitigated.
  • Provide guidance and knowledge to team members to promote efficiency and productivity.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and participatory environment that cultivates mutual respect.

Our Technology Stack

  • Multi-vendor Networking and Security Stack: Cisco Routing and Switching, DNA Center, Wi-Fi, Palo Alto Firewalls, F5, Splunk, SD-WAN, with a core focus on security.
  • Cloud Platforms: Microsoft & AWS Cloud (IaaS).
  • Cloud Networking: Azure Networking, AWS Networking, WAN Technologies, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, Azure Virtual WAN, VPNs, Landing Zone, Service Endpoints.
  • On-Premises Infrastructure: Hyperconverged infrastructure for storage and compute.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Ansible, Terraform.
  • Scripting Languages: PowerShell, Python.
  • DevOps Pipelines: Comprehensive tools for continuous integration and delivery.

What you bring:

  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Over 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure, network operations, cloud (IaaS, PaaS), security operations, AI, and automation.
  • Possesses deep analytical and problem-solving skills, expertise in IT architecture, cloud infrastructure, scripting, and a strong understanding of IT operational processes and monitoring tools.
  • Holds relevant industry certifications (Azure/AWS, Cisco, PCNSA, CISSP, F5, Palo Alto, Nutanix, VMware).
  • Proficiency at managing relationships, Collaborative and a strong team player.
