We are pleased to announce the opening for a DevOps Engineer, who will join our Joint Simulation and Technology Control Toolset (JSTC2) team in Huntsville, AL (Redstone Arsenal) and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. You will be part of a team known for solving complex problems for warfighter training exercises across the globe.
Responsibilities:
As the JSTC2 DevOps Engineer, you will work with a team of talented developers, testers, and the cybersecurity team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a Government Off the Shelf (GOTS) software product. You will also work closely with a government lab that houses the development and testing environments for this project. Duties in this position will include:
- Maintain and update development tools and infrastructure, as well as build and implement new development tools and infrastructure as needed
- Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
- Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
- Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation
- Work to automate import of DISA Iron Bank containers into the artifact repo
- Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)
- Participate in Scrum agile development process, including being active in ceremonies (standups, sprint reviews, etc.) and suggest improvements to team processes
- Participate in ongoing discussions around new technologies recommending system and process changes and enhancements as appropriate
- Learn new and emerging technologies while expressing a growth mindset
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- You must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- You will need 3-5 years of full-time professional experience in DevOps. Prefer 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Software Development/Testing.
- You must possess or can obtain an active Secret clearance.
- You must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or related roles.
- Experience with DevOps tools and practices, including Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and security/vulnerability scanning and remediation.
- Experience with maintaining and administrating DevOps tools.
- A strong understanding of GitLab (Ultimate) and it’s functionality including runners, scanning capabilities, etc.
- Experience utilizing GitLab to build, maintain, and upgrade CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Artifact Repository Managers (Artifactory preferred)
- Experience with containerized applications (Docker/Podman)
- Experience in implementing secure solutions in regulated environments.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages and technologies relevant to platform development.
- Strong scripting and automation skills.
- Experience with testing automation tools (Playwright or similar)
- Linux System Admin experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
