As part of the Mobile Networks department, our Roaming & Fraud team ensures the highest standards in network quality, security, and compliance, especially in the global realm of mobile telecommunications.
You’ll join a multidisciplinary team of 9 senior engineers with expertise in roaming and fraud prevention. We pride ourselves on a 24/7 support mindset and work with international partners to deliver seamless mobile services.
Our team is committed to collaboration, with a hybrid work schedule that includes two office days per week in Zoetermeer, a location conveniently accessible by public transport. We will move to HQ Rotterdam in 2025.

Job Description
As a DevOps Engineer (Roaming & Fraud) at KPN, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the operational excellence of our global mobile network. You’ll focus on maintaining and optimizing our roaming services, preventing fraud, and providing our customers with a reliable and secure experience abroad. Your work will involve balancing operational support with development, including the automation of tasks and implementing smart solutions for efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating with both internal teams and external international partners to ensure smooth integration and service delivery.
- Leading innovation initiatives, such as the deployment of new technologies (e.g., 5G, VoLTE) and enhancing fraud detection mechanisms.
- Acting as a point of contact for technical environments, systems, infrastructures, and security protocols.
- Handling complex incidents, often under time pressure, and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Managing and optimizing the Roaming & Fraud platform (RAF), including configuration, monitoring, and resolving incidents.
- Participating in a rotating on-call schedule, providing 24/7 support for critical issues.

Qualifications
To be successful as a DevOps Engineer (Roaming & Fraud), you should have:
- Strong experience with mobile networks, particularly in roaming and fraud prevention technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of protocols such as SS7, Diameter, SIP, INAP, and IP.
- Proficiency with Linux/Unix systems and familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Tekelec, Radcom, Datamon).
- Fluency in English is essential, as it’s the main language within the team.
- The ability to work independently and take initiative, with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation (once every five weeks).
- A collaborative spirit and an Agile/DevOps mindset, with the ability to adapt and grow in a dynamic environment.

- A gross monthly salary ranging from a minimum of €4.478,- to a maximum of €6.734,- based on a 37-hour work week, offcourse depending on your work experience.
- Flexible working hours up to 40 hours per week, potentially increasing your gross salary by up to 8.5%.
- A 10.5% allowance on your gross monthly salary (including 8% holiday pay).
- A variable bonus scheme of 7%.
- Annual individual and collective salary increases in accordance with our CAO.

- Excellent pension conditions: a total contribution of 23% of your pensionable salary, with KPN contributing 16% and you contributing 7%.
