Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We’re looking for two DevOps Engineers to join the Hartree Centre to help UK businesses and organisations of any size adopt advanced computing to increase their productivity, innovation, and economic growth. Hartree Centre experts collaborate with a range of industries and research communities to exploit the latest digital technologies, to upskill teams, and to develop innovative solutions for societal and economic benefit. By joining our team, you will be exposed to the very latest emerging technologies in Data Engineering & Analytics, AI, HPC, Cloud, IoT/Edge, and Web. Backed by significant UK government funding and strategic partnerships, Hartree is well-established and is home to some of the most advanced digital technologies and experts in the UK. You will help develop and administer cloud compute resources on-premise at Hartree and in the public cloud including Openshift/stack, K8s, and security services such as Keycloak.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Working effectively within and developing solutions that comply with Hartree Centre policies and procedures.
  • Writing well structured, tested, readable and maintainable code in small agile teams.
  • Participating in code reviews, refactoring, and presenting your work in knowledge exchange sessions.
  • Deploying & scaling apps and services on-premises and in the public cloud using CI/CD pipelines and managing your work using Git.
  • Administering on-premise & public cloud resources including OpenShift/Stack, K8s, IaC, data processing pipelines & workflows.
  • Creating high-quality documentation, reports, case studies, and web content.
  • Use case analysis, requirements capture, and project planning.
  • Providing support to internal staff, end users, and external customers
