Description:
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience applying DevOps practices
- Experience of relational databases – SQL
- Experience of an object originated language, preferable Java or C++
- Experience of Unix/Linux OS
- Experience of ITIL Service Management processes, including Incident and Problem Management
- Experience in an operational environment with a solid understanding of distributed systems and troubleshooting network-related issues
- Capability of ensuring the swift and controlled recovery of service-impacting incidents, minimising adverse impacts to our customers
- Ability to identity root cause analysis on service-related issues, identifying trends and ensuring that all insights are addressed quickly and efficiently.
- Experience of collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to resolve any issues
- Taking ownership of specific problems and delivering customer focused outcomes
- Experience in mentoring and supporting other DevOps engineers
Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE
As a Worldpay Senior DevOps Engineer you will provide monitoring and support of the production environment, troubleshooting system and customer issues whilst working with Product and Engineering Teams on critical issues. Additionally, you will be writing, testing and deploying code fixes to our production environment.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Operations: Monitoring and supporting the Worldwide Payment Gateway (WPG) production environment. This would also include building dashboards and monitoring.
- Collaboration and Sharing: Collaborating with Product and Engineering Teams on critical issues to share knowledge and potential solutions.
- Service Reliability: Troubleshooting and problem solving by reviewing dashboards and logs to resolve issues.
- Development: Writing, testing and releasing code fixes to the Production environment
- Mentoring: Developing junior/intermediate Engineers to maximise their potential and impact
