WHY WE NEED YOU!

We are looking for a software developer with a love of automation and simplifying processes to help streamline our development tooling systems. Improve and create processes that enable our Engineering teams to successfully release software whilst upholding company standards and best practice.
Develop new integrations in GitHub using actions and help create extensions in Azure DevOps. Ensure that everything we do is automated. Use your positive attitude to help developers see the benefits in using our processes and help them resolve problems with toolsets.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Maintain, automate, and administer thousands of repositories in GitHub using actions, branch protections and rulesets.
  • Use API’s with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python to maintain and report on development systems.
  • Build and maintain containerized build environments using Docker Swarm.
  • Provide assistance, guidance, and permissions to development tooling for all of Ivanti via Ivanti Service Manager.
  • Create Azure Logic Apps and/or Azure functions to automation work item updates and create dynamic fields.
  • Review and improve automated permission systems based on engineering feedback.
  • Administer Azure DevOps process templates, and build custom extensions in HTML, JavaScript, CSS.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A degree in Computer Science or similar. Can be substituted with four years’ experience in software engineering or Devops.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Initiative to notice a problem and take action
  • A proven track record of adopting new technologies
  • A wide, but not necessarily deep, set of skills covering most of the below areas:
  • 2-3 years’ experience with API’s and automation in PowerShell or Python
  • Development experience with an object-oriented language
  • Experience administrating an instance of Git based source control.
  • Experience using Virtual Machine systems (vSphere)
  • Experience installing applications into a Linux environment and image creation.
  • Experience with build systems and pipelines
  • Basic networking concepts and authentication methods.
  • Support/administration of enterprise or development toolsets.
