We understand the need to provide a flexible working environment partnered with team collaboration and socialisation. Therefore, we operate a hybrid working model with 3 days of working from home per week. This role is based in the South Africa Cape Town office.
Please note that this position will be supporting the UK region and therefore, working UK hours (10:00 - 18:30 SA time and until 19:30 during daylight saving)
Position Overview:
To support GPS development and streamline existing processes, we are looking for a DevOps Engineer who can be responsible for maintaining internal productivity tools and systems, identifying inefficiencies in current processes, and implementing integrations that meet our department needs.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering and be familiar with JIRA and Azure Dev Ops. The candidate will work with product development, release engineering, application administrators and GPS delivery teams to ensure that bespoke development follows best practices and delivers uninterrupted services to MRI Horizon customers.
Objectives of this role:
- Building and maintaining internal productivity tools
- Writing Process Outlines and Standard Operating Procedures
- Identifying inefficiencies and streamlining existing software development processes
- Working with product developers, release engineers and application administrators to ensure that GPS development follows best practices and is aligned with other departments
- Managing priorities and liaise with stakeholders at all levels
- Providing ad-hoc and automate reports for various metrics
- Build integrations with other internal systems
Skills Required
- Bachelor of science degree (or equivalent) in computer science, engineering, or relevant field
- Experience in developing applications using visual studio
- Experience in writing technical documentation
- Proficiency with Git, JIRA, YAML, Powershell and Azure Dev Ops
- Working knowledge of C#, SQL, REST APIs and OAuth2 Authentication
- Attention to details
- Ability to self-manage and meet deadlines
- Good commutator and collaborative team spirit
