POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic development team. As the primary individual responsible for the health and efficiency of our infrastructure, you will play a key role in maintaining uptime, reducing costs, and leading disaster recovery efforts. You will also contribute significantly to our security posture, ensuring that our infrastructure and processes align with HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance requirements. This position reports directly to the Head of Engineering.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2 years in a similar role
- Proven experience in AWS infrastructure management
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, RDS, Redshift, and Terraform
- Experience with self-hosted VPNs, SFTP, Sentry, and GitLab
- Expertise in disaster recovery planning and implementation
- Solid understanding of security best practices, particularly in relation to HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance
- Ability to optimize cloud infrastructure costs and manage uptime effectively
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with messaging platforms such as Twilio and Bandwidth
- Previous experience in a healthcare technology environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Passion for customer engagement and helping healthcare providers connect with their patients

Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee and maintain the health of our AWS-based infrastructure, including Kubernetes, RDS, Redshift, and Terraform.
- Cost Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure costs, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
- Disaster Recovery: Lead efforts around disaster recovery planning and implementation, ensuring minimal downtime and quick recovery in the event of failures.
- Security & Compliance: Play a crucial role in our security initiatives, particularly in ensuring HIPAA compliance and supporting our SOC 2 efforts.
- Monitoring & Logging: Architect and implement advanced monitoring, logging, transparency, and reporting solutions to enhance system reliability and security.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the development team to design and implement new solutions, leveraging the latest in technology and infrastructure.
- Customer Focus: Contribute to our mission of helping customers reach their patients effectively by ensuring the reliability and security of our engagement platforms.
