Description:
Volley Automation is an fully-automated parking service. Our goal is to create sustainable, parking solutions that are compact, efficient, and can be reconfigured and repurposed throughout a building’s life. We also make EV-charging easier and more efficient. Are you intrigued by the idea of putting cars away with robots? Do you hate parking? Do you love parking? If so, we have job openings here at Volley!
Volley’s engineering ecosystem is wide ranging: complex robotics systems that move cars, bay stations that measure vehicle dimensions with 3D lidar scanners, algorithmic multi-agent planning software, and frontend user applications for mobile and web. Our infrastructure is deployed primarily on-premise, but also includes services on AWS, iOs/Android, IoT devices, and AGV’s (robots).
We are seeking a DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to work in a small team of two to design, implement, and oversee this overall infrastructure. You will be supported by our software engineers, and if needed, additional IT contractors.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated experience as a software developer in a production environment.
- Experience with cloud environments, preferably AWS.
- Experience with (or interest in) on-premise environments.
- Experience with (or interest in) networking, including hardware components.
- Automation: Terraform, Ansible, etc.
- CI/CD: Bitbucket Pipelines, Github Actions, etc.
- Containerization: Kubernetes (EKS, EKS-A, k3s)
- Monitoring: Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Datadog, fluentd, etc.
- Databases: MySQL, Postgres, etc.
- Security: LDAP, Firewalls, NACLs, etc.
- Fluency in one or more high-level languages, e.g. Python, Ruby, Go, Java.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement CI/CD tooling, build/release processes and automated test infrastructure for regular releases.
- Contribute to managing and configuring networking infrastructure at remote sites. This includes:
- Selecting and configuring physical networking gateways, switches, etc.
- Configuring site-to-site VPN connections.
- Configuring DNS, TLS, private CAs.
- Architect and implement a configuration and provisioning system for all of our various IoT devices and hardware compute units.
- Collaborate on the definition and implementation of data pipeline(s).
- Implement and configure our monitoring and alerting systems.
- Enhance reliability in networking and compute infrastructure to respond to software and hardware outages.
