Qualifications:

  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition or related science.; registered by the Commission of Dietetic Registration; licensed by the state of North Carolina to practice dietetics.
  • Experience: 2 years Experience as RD in diabetes or related field, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:
  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), preferred.
  • Refer to Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096
  • If non CDCES, 15 diabetes credit hrs annually, required.
  • Registered Dietitian status by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, required.
  • Licensed Dietitian in the State of NC, required.
  • Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Knowledge, ability and skills to support diabetes education to accommodate cultural diversity, age specific or behavioral needs among the patients being served.
