Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic consultant to join a friendly and innovative team to deliver high-quality diabetes and endocrine care for our Somerset population. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to lead and develop services relevant to their interest and experience. This post is for 10 Pas joining other established Consultant posts. The successful candidate would need to be prepared to take on new challenges to expand the service, and work collaboratively with other team members. The management team is supportive of developing the service and regular monthly meetings ensures collaboration of management and consultant colleagues.
Outpatient work - The new consultant will provide outpatient clinics, provide cover for the podiatry clinics and contribute to the support for the endocrine nurse running dynamic endocrine tests.
Inpatient work - The new consultant will take part of the medical on call rota (1 in 14 weekdays and weekends, with the option to split weekends) The new consultant will support the other Diabetes and Endocrine Consultants in seeing diabetes and endocrine ward referrals and take a lead role supporting the diabetes inpatient specialist nurses and podiatrist.
To work with the multidisciplinary team to support the development of in house, county wide and community diabetes services.
To provide cover for colleagues in their absence. To deal with emergencies as the occasion demands.
