Job Title: Diagnostic Mechanical and Electrical Technician - Hearse and Limousine Builder
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical and Electrical Technician to join our team as a key player in the assembly and customization of hearse and limousine vehicles. In this role, you will be responsible for mechanical fitting, wire loom extension, circuit modification, and module relocation on various base vehicles, including Mercedes, Bentley, Volvo, and Nissan. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of high-quality, bespoke vehicles that meet the unique needs and expectations of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Fitting:
Perform precise mechanical fitting, including bodywork and chassis modifications, to accommodate customized features and accessories.
Assemble, fit, and align vehicle components, ensuring a high level of craftsmanship and quality.
Wire Loom Extension:
Extend and adapt wire looms to integrate specialized electrical components, lighting, and audiovisual systems.
Ensure proper insulation and routing to maintain the vehicle’s reliability and safety.
Circuit Modification:
Modify and enhance the vehicle’s electrical circuits to accommodate unique requirements, such as lighting, entertainment, and climate control.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently and effectively.
Module Relocation:
Relocate and reposition electronic modules and control units to optimize vehicle functionality and aesthetics.
Safeguard against damage and maintain the integrity of the vehicle’s electrical systems.
Vehicle Selection and Base Installation:
Collaborate with the team to select the appropriate base vehicle for each project, considering the client’s specifications and requirements.
Install and integrate the base vehicle components into the manufacturing process.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct thorough inspections and quality checks to ensure all modifications and installations meet company and industry standards.
Address and rectify any issues promptly to uphold the highest standards of quality and safety.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of work performed, including technical specifications, modifications, and electrical schematics.
Ensure compliance with company and industry regulations.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to mechanical and electrical work.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in mechanical and electrical work, preferably in automotive customization or similar industries.
Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and components.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical documentation.
Knowledge of mechanical fitting and fabrication techniques.
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues.
Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Certification in automotive mechanics or electrical systems is a plus.
Working Conditions:
This position may involve working in a shop or manufacturing environment.
The role may require the use of heavy equipment, tools, and machinery.
Occasional overtime and weekend work may be necessary to meet project deadlines.

Pay: £15.00-£16.88 per hour
