Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated practitioner to support the delivery of nutritional care for children who are tube-fed at home. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a registered dietitian, providing support to children and their families, ensuring that nutritional plans are followed, and that feeding is safe, effective, and personalised to each child’s needs. We require someone to work up to 30 hours/week over 5 days (Mon-Fri) and will consider school hours.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a key point of contact for children who are tube fed and their families, offering guidance and reassurance on feeding practices, nutrition plans, and equipment usage
Educate and train families and caregivers on the correct procedures for administering tube feeds, troubleshooting common issues, and maintaining feeding equipment
Provide practical support, helping families to adjust to the tube feeding process and ensuring they feel confident in their child’s care
Support and monitor the implementation of individualised nutritional care plans, developed by the registered dietitian, for children with complex medical needs. Reporting any concerns to the dietitian
Ensure that families have the necessary equipment and supplies
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to feeding equipment
Liaise with schools and other care settings
Communicate effectively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care for each child
