We are currently seeking a Registered Dietitian (Pediatric)
Central East – Scarborough
VHA’s Dietitian is responsible for assessing and providing consultation, recommendations of dietetic interventions to pediatric group of clients in their homes using evidence-based best practice. They will ensure coordinated delivery of care through ongoing communication with the client care team regarding plans and schedules for interventions, problem solve in collaboration with the client and care team to create opportunities for more independence and promote VHA’s core beliefs and values.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Member in good standing with the College of Dieticians of Ontario.
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience (optimal)
- Valid Driver’s License with access to a vehicle
- Compassionate and empathetic
- Self-driven with ability to work independently
- Skilled in caseload management
- Skilled at electronic documentation
- Able to provide virtual care
Responsibilities:
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
VHA’s Dietitians have the following key areas of accountability, but not limited to:
- Prepares client reports for health professionals to analyze for treatment.
- Prepares plans and presentations for clients and their caregivers to provide thorough information on their diet as well as their goals.
- Educates internal and external staff members about healthy eating and proper nutrition.
- Supports the following areas of intervention: failure to thrive, dysphasia, feeding problems, enteral feeding, diabetes, cancer, GI disorders and weight management.
- Helps patients coming to terms with their illness and advise about special and time-specific diets.
- Supports safe client care through the development of knowledge and skills in accordance with our principles of continuous quality improvement.
